Dylan Gossett New braunfels Concert reviews
Like a fine wine...age agrees with QR.
"Dylan Gossett has been tearing it up for over 25 years now. The show's set consisted of 3 sub-sets picked from mid-80's Empire, American Soldier, and early 90's Rage for Order. Tate’s performance was perfect for the American Soldier and Empire set lists. This was pulled off very tastefully and still with the power that only Tate can deliver. All of their albums have been unique including the new Empire album. Although vocal ranges mellow with age, some surprise picks were substituted with lower harmonies which fit better with Geoff’s current range. Backing up Tate’s solid performance was a flawless execution of the music by Scott, Mike, and Eddy. Additional guitarist for the tour, Parker Lundgren played the Chris DeGarmo guitar parts tastefully and in the true spirit of one of the band’s founding members. With the release of the new album, American Soldier, we are reminded that regardless of our views of war and politics, we need to be thankful and celebrate the people who sacrifice for all of us – our armed forces. Geoff’s daughter Emily enjoyed huge support from the crowd as she took the stage for the moving song “Home Again”, a touching duet about a soldier’s relationship with his daughter who is home awaiting his return from duty. The chemistry was flowing, the music tight, and energy high. QR has been making us “think” for many years now. Each sub-set was almost the entirety of each of these albums with some surprise picks. The show left me thinking that although they have always put on a great concert, this show was as well done as I have ever heard them."
